Wests Tigers juniors strong performers in first trial fixtures

It was a strong start to the 2021 season from Wests Tigers junior representative sides on the weekend as the club's Tarsha Gale, Harold Matthews and SG Ball sides all played trial matches.

With Balmain and Western Suburbs facing off in the Harold Matthews (U17's) and SG Ball (U/19's) games, there was plenty to like across the board with a strong and physical standard of footy on show despite the lack of previous action.

In the end, it was the Magpies that got the job done in both grades with the Harold Matthews team arguably the best performing side of the four.

Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale (U/19's girls) also got their 2021 preparations off to a positive start with extremely strong performances in their trial matches against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Parramatta Eels.

Having lost the majority of the 2020 campaign as a result of COVID-19, the trial matches form an integral part of 2021 preparations for the club's junior representative sides who are again in action next weekend.

With one more trial match before the season commences on February 6, Wests Tigers Members and fans can catch the club's junior representative teams in action again this weekend with a huge five-game program at Moss Vale.

Playing at Community Oval, Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale will kick off proceedings against Canberra at 10:00am before Western Suburbs will face the Raiders in Harold Matthews and SG Ball from 11:15am and 12:30pm respectively.

Macarthur Wests Tigers Andrew Johns Cup (1:45pm) and Laurie Daley Cup (3:00pm) sides will then round out the day with their games against Monaro.

Balmain will also face South Sydney in both junior grades on Saturday at Erskineville, with the Tigers looking to finish their preparations on a winning note.
