Junior Reps Results: Round 2

In wet and windy conditions across Sydney, it was another good weekend for Wests Tigers associated junior representative teams with four of the seven teams recording victories.

Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale continued their unbeaten start to the year with victory over Canberra while wins for Balmain, Western Suburbs and Macarthur Wests Tigers ensured every team had a positive note from the weekend.

Wests Tigers U/19's Tarsha Gale girls made it two wins from two to start the season with a hard-fought win over the Raiders at Kirkham Oval — Tehillah Vaeluaga's late four-pointer putting the home side over the line in a 16-10 win.

Their effort was matched by the Macarthur Wests Tigers Laurie Daley Cup side, who came from behind to defeat the Illawarra South Coast Dragons en route to their first win of the year. The Andrew Johns Cup boys were not as fortunate, however, with the Dragons leading from start to finish in a 24-16 win for the visitors.

Western Suburbs' Harold Matthews side continued their good start to the year with a an 18-point win over the Raiders, while Balmain went down to the Knights in the U/17's competition. The Tigers' SG Ball ensured there would be some joy at Leichhardt Oval, however, as a Harrison Henson hat-trick saw the black and gold home in a 26-22 win.

Round 3 will see Tarsha Gale and Balmain junior representatives in action against the Bulldogs in a triple-header at Leichhardt Oval while Western Suburbs are also at home at Campbelltown Sports Stadium. Macarthur Wests Tigers will travel to Narromine to face the Western Rams in both competitions.
