Expressions of interest open for ROAR Academy

Expressions of interest are now open for the newly launched Women’s ROAR Academy — a program that will strengthen the pathways for women’s rugby league.

The ROAR Academy is open to local female players aged between U/13’s and U/17’s in 2021 and compliments the club’s existing women’s program that includes the Tarsha Gale Cup and Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership.

The ROAR Academy will run a number of junior programs, including a talent identification day and a six-week program in the lead to the July school holidays with high-level training sessions to prepare them for future elite competitions.

Wests Tigers are excited by this new initiative and hope to see local Junior League Clubs represented in the Academy.

The program — which is the first of its kind amongst NRL clubs — will open up opportunities for women’s players to progress from the junior grades to the senior competitions.
