Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire is looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Stadium Australia when his side runs out in front of a bumper crowd on Easter Monday.

With a large crowd expected for the blockbuster clash against the Parramatta Eels, Maguire is eager for his team to play well in one of the biggest games of the season.

“It’s going to be a good day for footy,” Maguire said.

“I’m hearing there’s going to be a big crowd there. It’s always a good game and we’re looking forward to playing in front of plenty of fans.

“It’s always special playing in the big games and this is one of those big games.”

Having missed the annual Easter Monday clash in 2020 due to COVID-19 and playing through the season with restricted crowds, Maguire is looking forward to seeing the Wests Tigers Members and fans turning up in numbers on Easter Monday.

Liddle looking for back to back wins against the Eels

“We talk about our fans quite a bit and they’re a big part of our club, so hopefully we can put together a big performance in front of them,” he said.

Fresh from beating Newcastle in Round 3, Maguire hopes his side can build on last week’s performance when they face the Eels, who are undefeated after three matches.

“We know we’re playing a team that’s been mixing it around the top — this is a really good opportunity to make sure we’re playing at our best,” Maguire said.

“We’re pretty focused that we train well and then roll into the game … We need to make sure we build on what we did last week.

“They’ve had a really good week at training. We got a lot out of last week’s game and we’ll take that forward. We need to better than we have been and we know that. There are areas of our game that we need to improve on. We’re looking forward to the game.”
