Junior Reps Results: Round 7

The junior representative regular season wrapped up over the weekend with all grades playing catch-up games for the weather-affected Round 7 fixtures.

Two of Wests Tigers’ junior reps sides have progressed to the finals — and will be in action this coming weekend — while three teams exited their respective competitions.

Although Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale Cup team suffered a 30-10 loss to the Indigenous Academy at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday, they finished the regular season in fourth place to scrape into the finals by a single competition point.

Western Suburbs Magpies’ Harold Matthews side were the other junior reps team to qualify for the finals — finishing the regular season on a high with a 26-24 win over the Sydney Roosters. They came from three tries down to snatch victory, while interchange utility Tallyn Da Silva bagged two tries — including a late match-winner.

The Magpies didn’t have the same luck in the SG Ball competition as they went down by 18 points to the Roosters — which ended their 2021 campaign.

It wasn’t a season to remember for the Balmain Tigers in 2021 as both grades missed the top eight and finished with final-round losses to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.
