Wests Tigers are pleased to announce Cyril Andrew as the club's Member of the Month for October, 2021!
Cyril was nominated for the Member of the Month Award by his daughter, Cathee Andrew, as part of the recognition for Wests Tigers Members in 2021.
As a reward for his continued support and dedication to Wests Tigers, Cyril was awarded a signed 2022 Wests Tigers jersey as well as a Zoom call with local junior and Life Member Chris Lawrence, who retired at the end of last season.
For successfully nominating Cyril, Cathee was also awarded a $50 merchandise voucher to spend at the club's online RoarStore.
Cathee’s successful nomination of Cyril is as follows:
“My father is 90 years old and still continues to support his lifelong love, the Wests Tigers (previously Balmain Tigers). Dad grew up in Lilyfield and Leichhardt Oval has always felt like gone to all of us. Dad never misses a game and prior to Covid went to every game at Leichhardt and as many as he could at other grounds. Dad is the most fanatic armchair coach and always sees the good in his beloved team. Dad has never wavered in his support. He has been to many a NSW Cup game to cheer the boys on and watching his Tigers gives him so much joy. Dad cannot wait to be able to get back to the games to cheer on the boys. Age does not stop him cheering for his team and enjoying watching them play. Been a fan for 90 years so that is something to be proud of. He has never thought of moving his loyalty and we now have three generations of Wests Tigers supporters in the family. Thank you, Dad, not only being a wonderful father and grandfather but also for following the best team we are all proud to support!”
