Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 20

Wests Tigers’ Jersey Flegg Cup side travelled to Melbourne this week and came away with a huge victory over Victoria Thunderbolts on Saturday afternoon.

A hat-trick from second-rower Brandon Webster-Mansfield (in his first starting game since suffering a major knee injury in pre-season) led the away side to a 44-8 win.

Outside backs Jay Kirk and Livai Saukuru crossed early in quick succession to put the away side up by 10 points after just six minutes.

Webster-Mansfield scored a double before half-time, with Kitione Kautoga coming off the interchange bench to cross in between those two efforts.

Leading 28-0 at the break, Wests Tigers picked up where they left off to start the second half, with hooker Michael Tannous scoring his seventh try of the season.

Webster-Mansfield completed his hat-trick in between two tries from Victoria before Jay Kirk scored his double to cap off a great day out for Wests Tigers.
