Match Report: Round 22 NSW Cup

Western Suburbs Magpies have been defeated 26-22 by Canberra Raiders at Leichhardt Oval in Round 22 of the NSW Cup.

The Magpies started fast with Junior Tupou crossing for the opening two tries of match inside 15 minutes before the Raiders went back to back through Ata Mariota and Mitchell Spencer.

The Magpies led 12-10 at half time.

The two sides traded tries to begin the second stanza, with Spencer securing his double for the Raiders, before Triston Reilly hit back for the Magpies.

Canberra regained control of the contest when Manase Kaho and Peter Hola crashed over. Kaho had played earlier in the day in his team's Jersey Flegg loss to Wests Tigers, scoring a double and spending 10 minutes in the bin.

A late try to Zane Camroux gave the Magpies a sniff with a minute left on the clock, but it wasn’t to be for Western Suburbs, ultimately going down 26 points to 22.
