The Balmain junior joined Wests Tigers as a 15-year-old in 2018 and was rewarded at the start of this season with a 'development contract’.

Tumeth, who is yet to make his NRL debut, played this season in Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg Cup side and for Western Suburbs Magpies in the NSW Cup. He also helped NSW to victory, alongside Wests Tigers teammate Justin Matamua, in this year's U/19s State of Origin.

The 19-year-old back-rower is delighted to extend his stay at the club. "It's all I've ever wanted, to play NRL one day with the Wests Tigers, and hopefully I'm getting closer to that," said Tumeth.

“I've been with the club for a few years now and I love the place. My teammates, the staff, the fans, our new facility, everything about the club is great.

I'm over the moon to have signed a new deal as part of the top squad and I can't wait to get stuck into pre-season training.”

Incoming coach Tim Sheens says Brandon is another example of how good development programs work.

"It's tremendous to see a young man come through the junior rep teams and get to where is now," said Sheens.

It's a great example to other juniors in our system of what is possible with hard work and patience."

“We all look forward to being a part of Brandon's continued development over the coming years."

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe also believes Tumeth’s journey is a pathways success story.

“It’s great to see another local junior come through our pathways program,” said Pascoe.

This is further validation that our continued investment into pathways and development is working."
