Pathways Preview: Round 9 vs Panthers

This weekend’s Pathways preview looks at our two senior-rep teams, Western Suburbs Magpies in the NSW Cup and Wests Tigers in the Jersey Flegg Cup.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Magpies travel to Bathurst to play the Panthers as the curtain-raiser to the NRL on Saturday.

Both teams have had identical starts to the season, with four wins, three losses and a bye.

Jersey Flegg Cup

Our Jersey Flegg team takes on the Panthers in Windsor on Sunday, aiming to back up last week’s big win over the Sea Eagles with another strong performance.

The side was boosted last weekend by the addition of three Magpies SG Ball players who made their Jersey Flegg debut, and there will be another on Sunday.

Powerful middle forward, Chris Faagutu played in the NRL Pre-season Challenge in New Zealand earlier this year, and has been named on the interchange bench.

The team also welcomes recruit Danny Ghantous who will play his first game for Wests Tigers. A speedy dummy half, Ghantous will look to capitalise on the platform laid by Lomi Saukuru and Jackson Owen in the middle.
