Match Report: Jersey Flegg Round 9 vs Panthers

Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg Cup team has fallen to a 30-12 loss to the Panthers on Sunday at BlueBet Stadium.

Penrith posted first points through Angelis Hotere-Papalii, however the visiting Tigers took the lead shortly after when recent NRL debutant Brandon Tumeth crossed.

Fellow NRL Top 30 squad member Lomi Saukuru also crossed for a try, however two quick Panthers' tries meant Wests Tigers trailed 14-12 at the break.

Wests Tigers lost Jay Kirk and Danny Ghantous to injury before centre Josh Feledy was sent off early in the second half, making the task at hand even more difficult.

The Panthers scored three consecutive tries with their one-man advantage to claim an 18-point win.

Coach Scott Kenna says he's proud of his team's effort.

"We showed plenty of character to stop the score from blowing out, but just couldn’t overcome the challenges," he said.
