Reilly: Seven tries in six games

After trailing by sixteen points in the first half, Western Suburbs Magpies have fought back to claim a 16-16 draw against Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles at HE Laybutt Field.

Clayton Faulalo crossed first after just 14 minutes, before Morgan Harper and Alex Seyfarth were sin-binned for fighting.

Back-rower Zac Fulton and powerful winger Ray Vaega scored in quick succession to extend the Sea Eagles lead, before the Wests fightback began.

Liam Scolari bagged his first NSW Cup try since 2019, with the winger rewarded for persistence after a torrid run with injuries in recent years.

Triston Reilly scored just three minutes later, with the centre now having grabbed seven tries in his last six games.

The 16-8 halftime score-line remained until the 66th minute, when Tallyn Da Silva secured his maiden NSW Cup try in his second game at this level.

The 18-year-old hooker has proven unstoppable on the try-scoring front across SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup in 2023 and is certainly a prospect to watch.

Will Smith’s penalty goal with three minutes left made it 16-16 and that proved the final scoreline, with the visiting Magpies bitterly unlucky not to score a winner on the stroke of full-time.
