Pathways Preview: Round 17 vs Bulldogs

While the NRL side has the bye in Round 17, an exciting double-header for our NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams is in store at Lidcombe Oval this Saturday.

Jersey Flegg Cup (U/21s)

Fresh off the Round 16 bye, Wests Tigers will be desperate for a win against the 2nd-placed Bulldogs.

An exciting weekend for Heath Mason who is set to make his Jersey Flegg Cup debut at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday.

Mason, a fullback/five-eighth, was a member of last season’s Wests Harold Matthews Cup premiership-winning side and was awarded Best and Fairest for the Magpies SG Ball Cup team in 2023.

The Knock On Effect NSW Cup

The Magpies take on the ladder-leading Bulldogs this week, with Wests hopeful of causing a big upset at home.

Sione Hopoate made his Magpies debut last weekend and retains his place on the wing, while Western Suburbs are also boosted by the inclusion of Will Smith who acted as 18th player for the NRL team last weekend.

Head Coach Wayne Lambkin was full of praise for Triston Reilly and Aitasi James on this week’s edition of Behind the Roar, so keep a close eye on these two key performers on Saturday afternoon.
