Match Report: Jersey Flegg Cup Round 25 vs Sharks

Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg Cup team has fallen to a 34-10 defeat to Cronulla Sharks on Sunday afternoon at Lidcombe Oval.

Holding a slender lead at half-time, the Sharks proved too classy late in the game and ran away with the result in the second stanza.

Cronulla posted first points in the Round 25 clash, with winger Kristian Dixon scoring and converting to give the Sharks an early 6-0 lead.

Te Wehi Waitere extended the visitors’ lead with a try of his own shortly after.

Just two minutes after entering the game from the interchange bench, powerful prop Herman Tofaeono bagged Wests Tigers’ first four-pointer of the match.

The score remained 12-6 at half-time, with the point-scoring floodgates really opening after the break.

Waitere and Dixon both collected their second tries of the afternoon, before Heath Mason grabbed his third try at Jersey Flegg Cup level since making the step up from Wests SG Ball.

Middle forwards Salesi Ataata and Lachlan Crouch both crashed over late to cement a convincing win for a strong Cronulla side.
