Beyond the 80: Empowering young girls

Wests Tigers and Western Sydney University are thrilled to introduce Beyond the 80, a 10-week program for girls, which combines the thrill of rugby league with the essentials of a healthy lifestyle.

This unique initiative is designed to empower young girls and their families in Western Sydney, fostering both a love for the sport and an understanding of wellness.

The program will start on Saturday, 9th March, and run every Wednesday from 20th March between 6:00pm and 7:30pm at Western Sydney University’s Campbelltown Campus.

Beyond the 80 is for girls aged 7-11, providing them with specialised rugby league training while also involving their families in activities that promote health and well-being.

This inclusive program aims to reach families eager to embark on a journey of health, learning, and sportsmanship.

Wests Tigers Community Team Lead, Kenneth Tuala, is excited for the program to start.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Western Sydney University on the Beyond the 80 program, a testament to our commitment to community well-being," said Tuala.

Together, we aim to inspire young females and their families, fostering healthy lifestyles through engaging workshops.

"It's more than just rugby league, it's about building a healthier, stronger community extending well beyond the 80 minutes on the field."
