Match Report: NSW Cup Round 14 vs Raiders

Wests Magpies have suffered a 22-20 loss to Canberra Raiders in Round 14 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup at Lidcombe Oval.

The Magpies were in total control of the game leading 20-0 after 28 minutes before being held scoreless in the second half.

The home side scored four tries in quick succession with Zakauri Clark, Luke Laulilii, Tim Johannssen and Solomoma Faataape all finding the line.

The Raiders opened their account a couple of minutes before the break through fullback Albert Hopoate, and that was to be the first of four unanswered tries.

The visitors put three tries together in a 13 minute spell midway the second half, taking the lead for the first time with ten minutes to play, when winger Jed Stuart’s try was converted.

The Raiders held onto that lead until fulltime to earn a 22-20 victory.

Next up for the Magpies is a clash against the Warriors as part of a triple-header at Leichardt Oval on 15th June.
