On Saturday, at the fifth annual Royce Simmons Cup match, Holman Barnes Group CEO, Dan Paton donated $20,000 on behalf of the organisation to the Royce Simmons Foundation.
The donation was presented at half-time during the fifth annual Royce Simmons Cup clash between the Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers.
The Royce Simmons Cup is the annual fixture between the Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers, celebrating a legend of both Clubs and fundraising for an incredibly important cause.
Simmons – who recorded 10 caps for the Kangaroos – founded the Royce Simmons Foundation in 2022 following his diagnosis with dementia and has since been working tirelessly to tackle the disease head on.
Serving as Assistant Coach at the Wests Tigers for eight years, including during the Tigers 2005 Premiership triumph, Simmons remains a much-beloved member of the Wests Tigers family.
A one-club player for the Penrith Panthers, Simmons recorded 238 NRL games across 12 seasons and lifted the Premiership trophy in 1991.
As the matchday charity partner, the Royce Simmons Foundation, was the benefactor of the generous $20,000 donation from the Holman Barnes Group.
With several other fundraising initiatives throughout the match day, thousands of dollars in funds were raised for the Foundation, with the contribution from the Holman Barnes Group going a long way to supporting its important work in dementia research.
Measuring their impact by the change they inspire, the charity funds dementia research through multiple Australian universities with the goal of expanding medical understanding of the disease.
