The Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm the appointment of Shaun Mielekamp as its Chief Executive Officer.
The newly minted CEO spoke at length about his vision for the Club; and his excitement at bringing success to the Wests Tigers in the NRL, NRLW and Pathways.
A highly regarded and experienced sports administrator across rugby league and football, Mielekamp was appointed Wests Tigers Interim CEO in mid-December last year after arriving at Concord in early-2024 following a nine-year stint as CEO of the Central Coast Mariners FC.
Mielekamp played an integral role in the growth and success of Wests Tigers Empower, in addition to several special projects across the Club.
Mielekamp has laid the foundations of his vision for the Wests Tigers throughout 2026, working closely with the Club’s respective Boards to align on a path to long-term success.
“I’m really honoured and privileged to be given the role of Wests Tigers CEO,’’ Mielekamp said.
“I’m thankful to all our Boards, the Holman Barnes Group and the Wests Tigers Board in particular for the appointment.
“I’m proud of the fact that this isn’t as much about me but it’s about confidence in the Club and where we are going, particularly to the executive team that has been the real driving force in the administration for the last couple of years.”
Mielekamp said he had learnt many lessons in the past six months in the interim role after speaking to Members and supporters about the journey the club has been on.
“There is a lot of unity here and a key to our success moving forward is stability, so we have been able to maintain that over the last six months in making sure that we have been continual in what we are delivering,’’ Mielekamp added.
“Everybody wants the Wests Tigers to win. On the inside where we are headed, it’s a positive place. We have got a lot of opportunity in front of us, and we are on the right course.
“The unique dynamic that we've got here as a club is something really special.
“We offer something special in the Australian sports landscape and it’s up to us now as a collective to bring it all together and make sure we get the on-field success that we so desperately need.
“It’s a really united group. We are all heading in the one direction and it’s positive.
“That one direction is ultimately about making sure we have got everything we need to win football games.”
