Plenty of self-belief for Jahream Bula

Jahream Bula has called on his team-mates to play their own style of footy to enable the Wests Tigers to get back to their winning ways.

The Tigers have hit a hurdle over the past three weeks to sit four points out of the top eight ahead of Friday night’s crucial showdown against the second-placed Warriors.

The frustrating part for Wests Tigers Coach Benji Marshall is seeing his men let victory slip through their grasp after being in a strong position to win, especially in their past two matches.

Bula knows the Tigers must lift against the Warriors in their final home game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium for 2026.

Giving the team added confidence is the Tigers won the most recent matchup 32-14 in round 4 at Go Media Stadium.

“It’s a big game for our season but our focus is just week by week, one game at a time, and just nailing our process,’’ Bula said.

“Benji is trying to install belief in us that we can still play, that we haven’t lost our ability, and to just play our style of footy.

“We just need to back ourselves and do what works for us.”

Bula will also be looking to return to his best form, with the dynamic full-back searching for his first try since the round 13 win over the Bulldogs.

He's hoping for some more magic from creative half-back Adam Doueihi to help him find the line again.

“I love playing with Adam. I think he has got most of my try assists, so hopefully he can get some more,’’ Bula said.

It could be a case of good timing, too, that the game is at Campbelltown, a venue where Bula has scored three tries in his last three games at.

“We understand that it's been pretty tough at Campbelltown (with our results),’’ Bula said.

“We want to do a good job there because our fans always show up at Campbelltown.”
