Latu Fainu to represent Tonga in World Cup

Exciting young Wests Tigers five-eighth Latu Fainu will represent Tonga in the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

The 21-year-old made his Test debut for Tonga against England in Leeds in 2023 but this will be his first World Cup.

The talented ball player has shown maturity and creativity beyond his years since his NRL debut for Wests Tigers in 2024.

Fainu has crossed for five tries in 36 games for Wests Tigers. He made 13 appearances in 2026.

Tonga opens their World Cup against England at HBF Park, Perth, on Saturday, 17 October at 8.05pm.
