Wests Tigers junior Glassie Glassie has been selected to represent the Cook Islands at the Rugby League World Cup 2026.
The 19-year-old outside back impressed in his Jersey Flegg Cup debut this season, scoring a double against the Cronulla Sharks and continuing his rise through the Wests Tigers Pathways system.
Glassie progressed through the Wests Tigers Pathways system, representing the Macarthur Wests Tigers in the Laurie Daley and Andrew Johns Cup, and the Western Suburbs Magpies in the SG Ball and Harold Matthews Cup, before making his mark at Jersey Flegg.
The opportunity to compete at the Rugby League World Cup is a significant milestone for the Campbelltown City Kangaroos junior, who will now have the chance to test himself against some of the best players in the world.
Glassie returns to the international stage after previously representing the Cook Islands in age-group teams.
The Cook Islands face Fiji Bati in the opening round of the tournament at Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday 18 October at 4.05pm.
