Wests legend and 1963 Grand Final halfback Arthur Summons on Thursday presented the Wests Tigers squad to take on the Dragons with their playing jerseys.

Summons, who captained Western Suburbs and captain-coached the Kangaroos in 1963, spoke personally with current captain Robbie Farah and also addressed the playing squad in the lead up to Sunday's big Men of League Heritage Round match at the SCG.

Summons told the current crop of Wests Tigers players that they'd need to be mentally strong coming into such an important occasion and that the game would be won in their heads against a St George-Illawarra team looking to protect its proud history.

Wests Tigers will be out to avenge the loss of the 1963 Grand Final in controversial circumstances, with Summons imploring the players to give the game their all.
