Brydens Lawyers Wests Tigers Academy have built on a last start win over Parramatta with a gritty 24-20 victory over the Penrith Panthers on Thursday, July 10.

Played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, the match featured players aged both 16 and 17, with Wests Tigers’ Academy team made up of players who had played either SG Ball or Harold Matthews for Balmain or Western Suburbs in 2014.

Penrith took the lead early in the match but soon found themselves behind 12-8 at half-time, with Wests Tigers Academy team continuing to hold their opponents at bay to emerge with a solid four-point victory on the night.

No shots at goal were taken on the night, with 11 tries scored in total.

Justice Utatao continued his strong form from the opening match — bagging himself another double on the right wing — while halfback Daniel Roberts also scored another try in a solid outing alongside Hosea Leaue in the halves.
