Wests Tigers NSW Cup Coach Paul Fletcher previews his team's Round 1 match against Newtown Jets, to be played on Saturday, March 7 at Henson Park.

Having recently defeated the Jets in a trial match just two weeks back, Fletcher says he expects a similar showing from the Club's opponents this week, who will be boosted by having their first game of the year in front of the Henson Park faithful.

Fletcher also spoke highly of a number of the Club's young guns who will feature in his side this week, saying he was excited to see them in action for the first time.

"We're not small this year; we've got some good size and plenty of talent," he said.

"There's plenty of great young guys in the team to start Round 1, and I'm looking forward to seeing those guys in action in a competitive environment for the first time.

"I think the fans should be really excited about guys like Delouise Hoeter, Chance Peni, Lamar Liolevave, Salesi Funaki and players like that stepping up for the first time.

"They've all trained really well in pre-season and will be looking to leave an impact, no doubt.

"So if we get our house in order and look after our team, we're very confident in the result."

Kickoff for the match is at 3:00pm from Henson Park, Newtown.
