Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco speaks after scoring a try his side's 19-18 win over the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium to kick off season 2015.

Playing his first NRL game since suffering a knee injury against the Canberra Raiders in Round 16 last year, Tedesco said he was personally pleased to pull through the full 80 minutes, and also to leave the Gold Coast with the two competition points in hand.

"We knew it was going to be tough coming up here," he said.

"The media had written them off a bit but we knew they were going to come out strong.

"We were probably a bit sloppy at the start — a few too many dropped balls from us — ... but thankfully Patty Richards can hit those field goals pretty well!"

"For me, it was good to get through the 80 minutes.

"I didn't get too many opportunities tonight — there was a lot of dropped ball so not too many kick returns or things like that, but that probably helped me just ease back into it.

"But it was good to get through and happy with the game and the way it came out.

Tedesco also emphasised his support of a vocal Wests Tigers fanbase at Cbus Super Stadium on the night — thanking those who supported the boys in their season opener.

"It was great to have such support up here," he said. "I could hear them during the game and it really felt like a 50-50 crowd, which was a huge boost for us.

"Hopefully now we can get out there at Campbelltown Stadium next week and get a big crowd out there too to hopefully get us on a winning streak."
