Having started the season with back-to-back wins for the first time since 2008, winger Kevin Naiqama says he's pleased with his side's strong start to the year.

Wins over the Gold Coast Titans and St. George-Illawarra Dragons have moved Wests Tigers inside the top four heading into this week's clash against the defending premiers, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, as Jason Taylor's side look to create Club history by winning their first three games of the season for the first time since their foundation in 2000.

The Fijian flyer, who scored his first try in Wests Tigers colours against the Dragons, said a strong start to the year put the team in the best possible position to achieve that feat.

"Whenever you're playing the best sides, it makes you want to get up for the week," he said.

"Everyone is up for the challenge and really eager to get out there.

"What we want to be remembered for is what we create now. That's what we've been doing, and we've gotten off to a good start, but at the same time, it's still early in the year.

"We've been building and we can't wait to get out there this weekend.

"It's important that we go out there and compete, no matter what's going on.

"We just want to compete and be strong. We're not here to make up the numbers."
