Despite losing five in a row, Wests Tigers playmaker Mitchell Moses says he's still expecting a tough battle against the Newcastle Knights this Sunday afternoon.

Having gone down to the Sydney Roosters in Round 9 — a side that had previously lost four in a row heading into that match — Moses said he was expecting a similarly determined effort from the Knights in front of their home fans at Hunter Stadium.

"We're just trying to stay confident this week against the Knights," Moses said.

"I thought we were not too bad a last week; there were just a couple of lapses in defence that caught us out and saw the Roosters run away with it.

"We've just got to stick to our game plan, and stick to what we do best.

"We're expecting another tough game this week. They've had a couple of wins to start the year and they're tough to beat up there in Newcastle so it'll be a tough one for us."
