Wests Tigers forward Matthew Lodge has been charged from Wests Tigers' Round 10 clash with the Newcastle Knights on Sunday, May 17 at Hunter Stadium.

Lodge was charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle on Sione Mata'utia in the 78th minute, but is free to play this week against the Cowboys with an early guilty plea.

Meanwhile, Knights captain Kurt Gidley has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle for a controversial high tackle on Chris Lawrence in the 44th minute that resulted in the centre spilling the ball just metres out from the Knights' line in yesterday's match.

No penalty was awarded for the high tackle that saw Lawrence leave the field, but Gidley has been charged following the review, and is free to play this week with an early plea.

Storm hooker Cameron Smith and Sharks forward Luke Lewis will also both be free to play State of Origin I if they take the early guilty plea from their respective charges.

Tickets are ON SALE now for our Round 11 clash against the Cowboys on May 23! Be there and celebrate the 2005 Grand Final!
