Wests Tigers rookie hooker Manaia Cherrington spoke after making his NRL debut against the Gold Coast Titans in the Club's Round 13 match at Leichhardt Oval.

Coming off the interchange bench, Manaia was one of the Club's strongest players on the night, and he nearly grabbed a try with his first touch of the football, with an on-field decision controversially by the video referee, who ruled that the hooker had been held up.

Post-match, Cherrington's extended family and friends performed a special version of the haka for him, and he spoke about what it meant to play in front of them in the video above.
