Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach Jason Taylor gives the final word ahead of his side's clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs this Thursday night at ANZ Stadium.

After an embarrassing defeat to the Canberra Raiders last weekend, Taylor enthused that his side were determined to bounce back on Thursday night — stating that the short turnaround could work in the Club's favour as they move on quickly from last week's loss.

"We've talked a lot about our performance last weekend," Taylor said.

"We had a performance that simply wasn't good enough from us as a team. We let everybody down who is involved with the Club and we let our fans down too, which is disappointing.

"But one game doesn't make a season and eight games don't make a season.

"We've got plenty of opportunity ahead of us — and it starts tomorrow night — to rectify that situation. It's one really poor performance, but we get the chance to bounce back."

Taylor also confirmed that forward Tim Grant would miss Thursday's game after failing to pass a fitness test for knee and ankle injuries sustained against the Raiders.

"Tim took a knee injury into last week's game," Taylor said.

"By the time he came out of last week's game, it was knee and ankle so he's not going to play. We'll work out after this morning's training session who will replace him."

No replacement for the former Origin representative forward has been named, with final teams for Wests Tigers and South Sydney to be confirmed at 6:50pm on Thursday.
