Wests Tigers forward Tim Grant says the team are determined to produce some consistent performances in the final few weeks of the season as they look to keep their top eight hopes alive this Sunday when they take on the Dragons at ANZ Stadium.

One of just a handful of players at Wests Tigers to have featured in a finals series, Grant said the prospect of playing semi-final football was an appealing one, but the full focus was simply on maintaining a good run of form that has helped turn their season around.

After a run of six consecutive losses left Wests Tigers languishing towards the bottom of the NRL ladder, Jason Taylor's men have only recorded four defeats since Round 8, slowly moving back up the ladder to sit just two points outside the eight with seven games to go.

"The first block of the season wasn't up to the standard that we're trying to achieve here at Wests Tigers, but the next block certainly was better for us," Grant said.

"I think, as a team, we've grown so much in the last six months.

"Moving forward, if we continue that growth, I think we'll be there finals time."

Despite being back in contention for a top eight finish, Grant said the focus was simply on Sunday's game against the Dragons — a side they've only beaten once since 2013.

"It's the time of the year when everyone is looking to win games to get in the eight.

"I'm sure the Dragons are in the exact same boat as us so it's really heating up now.

"We've had a break now and we're ready to go, which is exciting.

"We've got a scenario that we've got to play to in terms of making the finals, but for us, the best scenario that we can follow is to win games and always compete.

"We can't afford to drop any games in the NRL, so every one is important.

"As long as we keep winning we're a chance."
