Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side were made to work for it, but were too strong in the end for Newtown Jets on Saturday — running out 42-24 winners.

Locked at 18-all at half-time after being 10-0 down early, the home side kicked away in the second half to lead 42-18 before a consolation try to the Jets in the final minute of play.

The win puts the Club fourth on the Intrust Super Premiership ladder with five games left.
