Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco says it's exciting to be named in the Prime Minister's XIII team to take on Papua New Guinea on Saturday, September 24.

The in-form fullback said that while he wasn't expecting to make the team at all this year, it was something he was looking forward to taking part in — even more so given the quality level of players in the team selected by Prime Minister's XIII Coach Mal Meninga.

"I'm quite proud of my achievements this year," Tedesco reflected.

"It's been a bit up and down with a few injuries, but to have represented New South Wales and now the Prime Minister's XIII team is a great achievement for me.

"To have Mitch and Woodsy here with me is pretty special.

"It's quite an impressive team. It's a star-filled lineup and they're all good guys, so it'll be good to get out there and mix it with them during the camp."
