Wests Tigers have secured a number of exciting fixtures for Members and fans with the announcement of the 2017 Telstra Premiership draw today.
Times and dates for the opening 20 rounds of the season have been confirmed, with Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Leichhardt Oval and ANZ Stadium all set to host four blockbuster home matches throughout the year.
The three confirmed timeslots at Campbelltown include two Sydney rivalry matches plus the return of Jarryd Hayne’s Gold Coast Titans, which attracted a bumper 16,783 crowd in Round 23 last year.
The Sydney Roosters are set to play their first game at the ground in six years, while Western Sydney counterparts Penrith last played at Campbelltown in 2013.
The final match for the season at Campbelltown, which is yet to have a confirmed timeslot, will see Wests Tigers do battle with superstars of North Queensland including Johnathan Thurston, Jason Taumaulolo and Matt Scott.
The positive news continues at Leichhardt Oval, with both 2016 Grand Finalists set to play at the ground in 2017. The Melbourne Storm return for a Sunday afternoon showdown in Round 4, while the defending premiers Cronulla are locked in for a Round 9 match-up.
The timings for the final two matches at Leichhardt Oval will be confirmed mid-season, with crucial games against the Sea Eagles and Warriors set to take place in the all-important final six rounds of the competition.
The timings for all four Wests Tigers’ home games at ANZ Stadium have been confirmed, with epic Sydney rivalries against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Parramatta Eels secured. Wests Tigers won five of eight matches at ANZ Stadium in 2016 and will look to continue the strong record at the ground next season.
