The release of the 2017 NRL Draw today has provided a number of blockbuster matches with Campbelltown Sports Stadium set to host four epic encounters.
The ground will host the Club’s first home game in 2017 — a second round, Western Sydney showdown against the Penrith Panthers. The Sunday afternoon timeslot is perfect for Rugby League fans in the area and will certainly be a game not be missed.
It’s also the first time the Panthers have travelled to Campbelltown since 2013, with the men from the foot of the mountains losing their past four matches at the ground.
The following match sees the Sydney Roosters return to the ground for the first time in six years, with the game again scheduled for the family-friendly Sunday afternoon timeslot.
Wests Tigers will be out to break an eight-game losing streak against their Sydney counterparts in what will be a huge match prior in a non-Origin affected fixture.
Just a fortnight later, the Gold Coast Titans return for a rematch of the 2016 thriller that drew just under 17,000 fans to Campbelltown
The Round 16 meeting is scheduled for the primetime Friday night timeslot, with livewire fullbacks James Tedesco and Jarryd Hayne set to do battle once more.
The final match for the season at Campbelltown, which is yet to have a confirmed timeslot, will see Wests Tigers do battle with a star-studded North Queensland side.
It shapes up to be a huge game, locked in for Round 25, as Wests Tigers face-off with Johnathan Thurston, Jason Taumaulolo and Matt Scott in the run to the finals series.
