Three weeks in to his time with Wests Tigers, hooker Matt McIlwrick says he feels excited and settled at the Club after an off-season move from the Cronulla Sharks.

Only 25 years of age, the Christchurch-born McIlwrick will wear the colours of a fourth Club in his career in 2017 and spoke today at his first public event for Wests Tigers —  a White Ribbon event in Burwood — about how he's found the off-season switch.

"It's been great joining Wests Tigers," he said.

"Training has been tough but good and I'm looking forward to what next year holds.

"All the boys are very young and enthusiastic, and that makes turning up every day fun.

"Everyone is on the same page, everyone is looking to work hard, and there's big things coming for this Club — that's pretty clear from the moment you walk in here.
