Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that the Club has re-signed exciting young centre Moses Suli for a further three seasons.

The new deal will see Suli remain with Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2020 season.

The Fairfield United junior played both Harold Matthews and SG Ball for the Balmain Tigers, progressing through to Wests Tigers’ Under 20s in 2016 at just 17 years of age.

Suli played two Holden Cup games in 2016, with the outside back scoring tries in both games, wins over the Melbourne Storm and the Canberra Raiders.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said he was very pleased that Suli had decided to continue his playing career with the Club.

“As a Club, we’re very excited to see Moses remain with Wests Tigers,” he said.

“Considering the interest in Moses from a number of different clubs, it’s clear that he has an abundance of talent and potential, and we’re thoroughly pleased to be able to watch him continue his progression here.

“It’s also extremely exciting for the Members and fans of this Club to see a future first-grade centre commit his future to Wests Tigers.”

Wests Tigers Head Coach Jason Taylor said that he looked forward to seeing Suli develop further at the Club, having seen a rapid improvement in the 18-year-old.

“We’ve been keeping a close eye on him for a little while now, so it’s really great that we’ve been able to secure Moses at Wests Tigers,” Taylor said

“Anyone who has watched him in our junior representative teams has had their eye on him, and while his size and strength obviously stand out, it’s been his awareness of where to be and what to do in the games and pre-season training that has really impressed the coaching staff and has us all really excited.

“He spent a bit of time with our first-grade team over this pre-season and that’s when we realised that he’s got something special in how he handled that experience.

“We’re looking forward to having him in and around our NRL group over the next few years, because we know that everything he gains there will only help him further.”

18-year-old Suli said that he was happy to have his future secured ahead of the 2017 season.

“It’s really exciting, and I can’t wait to get out there on the field,” Suli said.

“I only played a few games last year and then got injured, but I’m back in training now and it’s been great to be out there with the senior guys in training.

“I’m hoping to have a crack at first-grade as soon as possible, but I’m keen to just keep working hard and do my best.

“This Club gave me a shot when I was 15 years of age. I’ve loved every second being here and can’t wait for what’s to come in the years ahead.

Suli has already represented New South Wales in an Under 16s Origin match in 2014 and was initially selected in the New South Wales Under 18s squad for 2016.
