Wests Tigers have named a 24-man squad for this Saturday’s trial match against the St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

Head Coach Jason Taylor has named a host of experienced players for the clash such as Chris Lawrence, Elijah Taylor, Sauaso Sue and Luke Brooks.

New recruit Jamal Idris will play his first game for Wests Tigers, named alongside another new signing in Matt McIlwrick who debuted in the NRL Auckland Nines last weekend.

The majority of the Wests Tigers’ NRL Auckland Nines squad will travel to Wollongong, with 15 players from the tournament set to back-up against the Dragons.

Connelly Lemuelu, a versatile outside back who joined Wests Tigers’ Holden Cup squad this season from Keebra Park, will get an opportunity to impress in the trial match.

Fellow rookies Moses Suli, Jeremy Marshall-King, Matt Eisenhuth, Wes Lolo, Watson Heleta, Esan Marsters and Bayley Sironen round out an exciting squad mixed with youth and experience.

Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership and Holden Cup sides will play at Kirkham Oval on Saturday, with teams to be confirmed for those games later this week.
