Wests Tigers forward Tim Grant spoke to the media today ahead of the Club's Round 6 clash against the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville this Saturday.

One of several Wests Tigers players to have played previously under new Head Coach Ivan Cleary, Grant said he was full of praise for the former Warriors and Panthers boss.

"He's very calm, that's the first thing to comes to mind about him," Grant said.

"I've been in some good wins with Ivan and some pretty bad losses as well along the journey when he first came to the Panthers and he's still the same guy regardless.

"I think that'll be really beneficial for us here at Wests Tigers.

"In the past — and during this year already — we've drifted in an out of games based on emotion; riding the rollercoaster. But I think the way Ivan carries himself is very level and grounded, and hopefully the dividends are there for us.

"Having a Coach now and having that stability, it definitely takes the element of excuse out of our performances. It's up to us now to move on and play some footy."
