Wests Tigers forward Elijah Taylor says he's looking forward to continuing the team's recent run of form under Coach Ivan Cleary this Friday night against the Rabbitohs.

After watching last week's ANZAC Test match on the sidelines as 18th man, Taylor said he was excited to take the field again in anticipation for a tough showdown against South Sydney.

"It's a massive defensive focus when you play against the Rabbitohs," he said.

"When you play the Rabbitohs, you know you're in for a big game in the middle.

"They've got big boys and big bodies so you really need to slow their ruck down.

"If we do that, that gives our boys the chance to score some boys out wide.

"Hopefully now we can start being in the news for winning games and being consistent. We're working as hard as we can to change that perception and hopefully that starts this week."
