Wests Tigers forward Tim Grant says despite a tough defeat to the Sydney Roosters last Sunday, Ivan Cleary’s side are still remarkably positive and upbeat heading in to this week’s clash against the defending premiers Cronulla Sharks.

One of the best in a losing team, Grant will start this week alongside Ava Seumanufagai in the absence of Aaron Woods, but says the omission of the team’s two Origin players and run of five straight defeats isn’t enough to deter the positive spirit of the team.

“To be honest, we’ve just been working really hard,” Grant said.

“It doesn’t feel like we’re in a form slump or anything. Everyone is really enthusiastic and energetic at training. I don’t think dragging our bottom lip around and not being upbeat is going to pull us out of where we are, so I think everyone is full of energy and focused on what they have to do to get the Club out of where we are at the moment.

“For us, I don’t think it’s a matter of looking at the competition table.

“The focus is, daily, on putting our best foot forward on the training park and making that transfer on to the weekend’s game — that’s how we’re going to win.”
