Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma says last week's tough defeat to the Cronulla Sharks can be a learning experience for the team that helps them in the weeks ahead.

After the agonisingly close defeat last week he explained that the team needs to learn to stay in the game and focus for the full 80 minutes if they are to win in the coming weeks.

"There was a time where we were up by two tries and there wasn't long to go and I think we’ve just got to learn to hang on there in those crucial times," Nofoaluma explained.

“Coming up against the Titans I'm expecting the same things are gonna happen and we’ve just got to stay in there for the full 80.

“We’ve got plenty of young guys coming in and it’s good that they get to learn off that game so going forward they know what to expect.

“We’re looking to work on our go-forward and playing the full 80 minutes.

"We have struggled with that this year and we just have to find our focus and make sure we concentrate when we come back from half-time and continue that through the second half.”

20-year-old rookie Esan Marsters made his first start against the Sharks, scoring a try, and Nofoaluma was confident about their combination improving over the course of the season.

“It was his first start in the centres with me and I thought we went good and we can only get better as long as we work together at training and improve," he said.

“We’re pretty keen to get a win. It’s been a while and the boys are feeling that and we’re training hard and we’re just hoping it pays off eventually.”
