Wests Tigers Physical Disability Rugby League team had a superb showing in the first ever Physical Disability Nines tournament last weekend in New Zealand.

The competition was played between four clubs, the Wests Tigers, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Manly Sea Eagles and New Zealand Warriors and was the NSW Physical Disability Rugby League Association’s (PDRLA) first international tour, with Wests Tigers making the Grand Final!

Wests Tigers went in to their final pool match against the Sea Eagles needing to win to make it to the final, and secured a thrilling victory by three tries in the end, before going down narrowly in the Grand Final to the home town Warriors, who won by six points.

Whilst all players went well, Mitch Gleeson was named Wests Tigers Player of the Tournament, and all games were played in great spirit by every member of the squad.

Attention for Wests Tigers PDRL team now turns to Commonwealth Championships where players will be vying for National selection for the first time.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate the team on a great tournament!
