Western Suburbs Magpies Intrust Super Premiership Head Coach, Brett Hodgson.

The NSWRL have today confirmed the draw for the 2018 Intrust Super Premiership season, with the Western Suburbs Magpies kicking off against the Bulldogs.

The match will be played at ANZ Stadium prior to the club's NRL season opener against the Sydney Roosters — one of several double-header games to feature throughout the year.

Under the watchful eye of Life Member Brett Hodgson as Coach, the club is looking for a strong year in the Intrust Super Premiership competition with increased squad depth and talent.

A total of 57 matches of the NSWRL’s premier competition, the Intrust Super Premiership NSW, will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and Fox Sports across the 2018 season, making it the most-watched in the event’s history. Importantly, 24 of those games will be broadcast live on free-to-air television.

The 2018 season includes three special rounds which all teams will follow:

  • Round 5 — Respect Round, in line with the start of the Junior League season
  • Round 11 — Magic Round, which will see two triple-headers of Intrust Super Premiership NSW games, likely to be played at iconic venues Henson Park and North Sydney Oval
  • Round 20 — Heritage Round, which will raise awareness and funds for Men of League.

Another feature of the competition will be a number of double-headers with the new-look Jersey Flegg Cup (Under-20 competition) or other NSWRL competitions, rather than stand-alone games.

The Jersey Flegg draw will be released in the coming weeks by NSWRL.
