Wests Tigers to train with Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League players

Hosted by Club Menangle, a number of Wests Tigers players and coaching staff will be on the field with 26 local junior players in a junior clinic at Menangle Park on Saturday 12 May from 4.30pm.

Sessions will run alternating between harness races 1 and 2.

Many Wests Tigers players started their careers in the region with 13 junior rugby league clubs in the Western Suburbs DJRL area alone with a number of future stars set to take part in the clinic on Saturday.

"We understand the importance of developing our junior teams to be the future of the sport. Wests Tigers are local names and this is an amazing opportunity for our juniors to meet their footy heroes," said Julie Luke of Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League.

Harness racing has its grass roots in the community across all of NSW and at Club Menangle attracting the future Wests Tigers stars to train with the current players at its home base fits that community connection perfectly.

"We're proud to be an official sponsor of the Wests Tigers and Club Menangle and events such as this showcase the engagement both football and harness racing brings to the community," said Michelle McDowell of Allied Express.

Wests Tigers supporters are invited to come along on the day, with an opportunity to meet the players and mascot after the clinic whilst also enjoying the excitement of harness racing and the festivities of the Aussie Night Markets.
