Wests Tigers Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership side have gone down 28-4 to Mounties RLFC on Sunday evening.

After securing their maiden victory in the competition last week, Wests Tigers were unable to lift their game again this week against Mounties on their home turf, with the 24-point win taking the hosts to the top of the ladder after three games.

West Tigers were quick to get on the board within the opening 10 minutes with Jeorgia Loto’aniu darting past Mounties defence to score down the right edge.

Mounties soon hit back, however, with Monique Donovan diving over in the 16th minute to level the match before two tries in the space of three minutes before half-time to Patricia Raikadroka and Simaima Taufa-Kautai took it out to 16-4.

Taufa-Kutai would grab her second try shortly after the break to extend the lead further before Karol Tanevesi added one final try in the 50th minute to confirm the win and extend the hosts' points differential to the best in the competition.

While disappointed with defeat, Wests Tigers will take plenty of confidence from the performance throughout the second half and will look to bounce back in to the winners circle on Sunday, April 18 when they take on the Cronulla Sharks.

Mounties RLFC 28 (Taufa-Kautai 2, Donovan, Tanevesi tries; Power 2/2, Williams 1/1 Parker 1/2 goals) def. Wests Tigers 4 (Loto’aniu tries)
