Wests Tigers Results: Round 5

It was a tough weekend of results for Wests Tigers in Round 5 with only the club's Jersey Flegg and Tarsha Gale sides recording a win as the NRL boys went down in Golden Point.

Leading 8-2 with two minutes remaining, it was a case of what could have been for Michael Maguire's side as a late Penrith comeback stole victory in Extra Time — handing the side their second loss of the season after a defeat in Round 3.

The news wasn't any better in Canterbury Cup as Mounties produced a dominant display en route to a big win over Western Suburbs, but the Jersey Flegg and Tarsha Gale sides added some respectability to the weekend for Wests Tigers with wins over the Victoria Thunderbolts and Penrith Panthers respectively.

In junior representative competitions, Balmain got the job done over Central Coast Roosters in Harold Matthews while the SG Ball side went down — both sides securing their position in the finals, however, which kicks off this weekend.
