Wests Tigers Results: Round 5

It was a successful weekend for Wests Tigers in Round 5 with Michael Chee Kam's last-minute try paving the way for an upset win by Michael Maguire's side over the Brisbane Broncos.

Locked at 16-16 with a minute on the clock, Wests Tigers look destined for a repeat of their Golden Point clash with the Penrith Panthers just six days earlier, before Chee Kam's incredible run on last tackle saw him break the Broncos defence open and the hearts of Brisbane supporters in the process with a 22-16 defeat.

Wests Tigers Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg sides continued the winning ways on Sunday as they both recorded wins at Leichhardt Oval — the Magpies proving too good for Penrith while Wests Tigers came from behind to down the Bears.

In other grades, the club's Tarsha Gale side also had a strong win on Saturday as they knocked off the more-fancied Newcastle Knights in their Qualifying Final — earning them a week of and passage through to the Preliminary Final.

Balmain had mixed results in the junior representative competitions, with the Harold Matthews winning their Elimination Final but SG Ball bowed out with a loss.

The Tigers Harold Matthews side will now face Canterbury at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on April 19, with the winner through to the Grand Final qualifier.

Celebrating with the fans in Brisbane!
