Wests Tigers are proud to join with official Charity Partner Soldier On Australia to raise awareness and much-needed fundraising this ANZAC Day through the In Their Honour Appeal.
The appeal focuses on how 100 years ago veterans returning from the Great War did not have the support services to aid them in the way that contemporary veterans can now utilise them. A story of a WWI veteran is paired with that of a contemporary veteran to illustrate how both sets of veterans have experienced difficulties through their service, while also highlighting how Soldier On Australia is able to provide support for our contemporary veterans and their families members.
These stories have been shared through Soldier On throughout April, and highlight the need to remain grateful for the sacrifices made — both past and present.
In conjunction with the appeal, Wests Tigers are also ensuring that monies donated through the ANZAC Round game in Tamworth will be counted in the appeal.
Soldier On rely on the support from the community to provide the support services to contemporary veterans and their families so we ask you to think of them today.
Thank you for helping to protect the futures of our service personnel and their families. In doing so, you are truly honouring those who have served our nation.
