Tarsha Gale trio named in NSW U/18's squad

Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale players Janaya Bent, Sophie Curtain and Emily Curtain have been named in the New South Wales U/18's women's squad for their historic clash against Queensland.

The match will take place at North Sydney Oval on Friday, June 21 as part of the lead-up to the annual Holden Women’s State of Origin clash at the ground.

The squad has been predominantly chosen from the Tarsha Gale Cup which showcases some of the rising stars in women’s Rugby League. Janaya, Sophie and Emily starred for the club's Tarsha Gale side this year before the latter joined the senior women's Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership side on the weekend.

This year will be the first time a NSW U/18's women's team has been chosen to play Queensland. The 25-person squad will train at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence in late May before the final team is chosen to come into camp on Tuesday, June 18.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate Janaya, Sophie and Emily on their selection!
